People are raised to think that if you work hard, you’ll get far in life. In reality, that isn’t true at all. In fact, working hard leads to frustration and dissatisfaction. The only way to get ahead in life is to work SMART.
But how can we do that?
As real estate entrepreneurs, there are many different roads that we can take. I think it’s best to choose the niche that suits you the best, and experience that path to its fullest potential. Don’t choose a path for yourself only because there’s money attached to it. If you do what you love the most, then money will be the result, no matter what path that might be.
The one mistake I see all entrepreneurs make is that they try to be everything to everyone. There are alot of moving parts when it comes to running a business. Not just a real estate business, but any business. Most people try to do everything themselves, and to be all of the employees to their business. Although you ARE your own boss and you can show up to work whenever you want to, the problem is that you HAVE to show up. You HAVE to do everything. If you don’t, then your business will fail.
Doing all of the work yourself might be fun at first, but if you plan on sustaining the status of a true entrepreneur, and having longevity in the business, then you’ll need to outsource some of the tasks that make your business run smoothly. This will allow you to focus on what’s important to you, and will allow you to do what you enjoy doing. (And don’t say you enjoy doing everything!!)
I’ve been wholesaling houses since 1998, and I’ve assigned nearly 500 contracts! I spent the first 8 years doing everything myself and running myself ragged. That got old real quick. So I’ve spent the last 8 years perfecting a system and a business that can run with very little of my attention and demand. I see this business in a whole new light now.
I love having my time to myself, and not having to do the things that I dont like doing, and not losing any revenue by giving that task to someone else.
